Pork and Chive Dumplings with Handmade Pastry

Size Guide

Handmade from scratch, with love, this free range pork and chive dumpling recipe has been passed down through the family and my kids ask me for them all the time, so much so that they are a staple in their school lunch boxes, yum!

*** You can cook your Dumpling straight from the freezer by boiling or pan frying.

1. By boiling: in a pot of boiling water add the frozen dumplings, high heat, when the Dumpling is boiling add one cup of cold water (prevents Dumpling from breaking) and it's ready when the Dumpling's boil again.

2. By pan frying: heat up your pan, add some oil then add Dumpling plus a cup of water, close the lid until all the water is dry and the Dumpling has turned golden brown and crispy.

3. Steaming: In steamer or steam oven, lay the frozen dumplings on baking paper or an oiled tray and steam for 15-20 minutes.

Comes with Sichuan Chilli sauce (Dried Chilli, Sichuan peppers, garlic and olive oil)

Contains: Sesame seeds and sesame seed products (eg tahini), Soybeans and soybean products (eg Miso, soy milk etc), Cereals containing gluten and their products including wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt

Hi, I'm Iris. I'm originally from Cambodia. My first memory of connecting with food was when I was little and my mum was always busy in her shop, so she left the house work and cooking to me. As the eldest child in the family, I had to learn to cook and did the shopping as guided by mum. I remember I learnt to cook my first curry chicken when I was just 12 years old. At first, I wasn't sure that I loved cooking because it was like a duty to me. Cooking really inspired me when I had my own kids. I'm a mum of three and my husband and kids love my food, this has inspired me the most and allows me to learn more about different foods and always cook with love. 

I learnt to make the real Chinese dumpling pastry from my mother in law and this is now the all time food for my family because they absolutely love it and the best things is we can pre-make them and keep them in the freezer.  I hope I can make my family style dumplings for you just as I make for my family. Insanely good - restaurant quality at home!

I'm crazy about the flavour of these dumplings - it was a really lovely way of treating ourselves to some restaurant quality food, in the comfort of our own home.... well, as relaxed as dinner with a newborn and toddler can get!!! Thank you Food St for giving me a night off :)

Delicious Dumplings

I loved these dumplings. I was a bit hesitant that I would ruin them when cooking so I used the pan fry method and added the water and covered with a lid with fingers crossed. They were perfect! Such a beautiful filling and the sambal was hot and spicy. They were a big hit and I will definitely be getting these again.
